Progress Authority

The Progress Authority promotes the overall economic growth of Bradford and Susquehanna Counties as a whole by creating opportunities for economic development through the desirable business growth, expansion, retention and attraction. The organization will leverage private investment, complimented by public financing and incentive programs, to enhance employment opportunities throughout our area. The Authority will also promote the exchange of information for industrial and commercial development purposes and support local financing efforts through the effective administration of a revolving loan fund. The Authority will work as a partner to develop a climate that is conducive to maintaining the quality of life of our counties while navigating the ever-changing economic environment.

Northern Tier Regional Planning and Development Commission

The Northern Tier Regional Planning and Development Commission are the local development district serving the five-county Northern Tier region, encompassing the Pennsylvania counties of Bradford, Sullivan, Susquehanna, Tioga and Wyoming. Their staff provides resources to help businesses and entrepreneurs, local governments and non-profits, and job seekers meet their challenges and succeed in Pennsylvania's Northern Tier. Developing People, Developing Businesses, Strengthening Communities with an overall mission to help businesses expand their markets, generate employment improve the local economy, and plan for the future development of the Northern Tier Region.

The University of Scranton Small Business Development Center

The University of Scranton Small Business Development Center (SBDC) provides educational programs and no cost, confidential consulting services to entrepreneurs looking to start a small business or grow an existing small business in Bradford County, Lackawanna County, Monroe County, Pike County, Susquehanna County, Tioga County, Wayne County, and Wyoming County in Pennsylvania. The University of Scranton has hosted the SBDC since 1980, providing outstanding resources, support, and funding. The SBDC is housed in the University’s nationally recognized Kania School of Management.
