Clerk of Courts

The Clerk of Courts office creates and maintains all files for criminal, juvenile, miscellaneous, and administrative cases. This would include all filings from court proceedings, issuance of subpoenas, bench warrants, bail bonds, etc. They certify various filings as well as make copies for different offices, attorneys & parties involved in the cases. Other responsibilities include reporting dispositions of criminal cases to the Department of Transportation & State Police, processing summary, commonwealth, and superior court appeals, assessment, collection and distribution of fines, costs and restitution. The Clerk of Courts office also administers oaths of office, affirmations in court proceedings, issue private detective licenses, maintain constable information and process expungements of criminal records.
