Currently, Susquehanna County requires the collection of a 3% room rental tax on any permanent structure rented for less than 30 days. If you own such a property and currently do not remit this tax to the County Treasurer, please complete the room rental tax application. As of May 1, 2019, if you list with HomeAway, VRBO, and/or Vacation Rentals.com, your room rental tax will be collected by your online platform and remitted to Susquehanna County as required by law. If you have questions regarding this collection, please notify HomeAway. A quarterly report form will still need to be provided by each establishment to verify payment from HomeAway.
